I will be attending the Minnesota Library Association Conference on October 9th and 10th. The conference will be held in St. Cloud, MN and will feature a wide variety of topics that I believe will be of much help to me in my journey as an MLIS student, including panels such as Libraries and the Law: A 2025 State and Federal Update, Implementing AI with Intention: What Managers and Staff Need to Know, Centering Ethics in Generative AI, Tracking Government Information: Fighting Back Against Censorship and the Destruction of Public Resources, and The State of the States: A Look at Intellectual Freedom in Libraries Across America. My intention as an MLIS student will be to observe, take notes/blog about my experience, and to document everything that I learn for future reference.
I’ve also heard good things about both the public library in St. Cloud and also their independent bookstore that features used and rare books, so I’ll be checking those out as well.
